Newport, Rhode Island Honeymoon!

Ever consider Newport, Rhode Island as a honeymoon choice?  A few years ago (and then some) back my friend Cindy was married in a Newport, Rhode Island mansion!  What a beautiful place for a wedding ceremony and reception!  As the days approached the wedding we walked around this cute little town, up and down hilly streets filled with quaint little colored homes.  In and out of adorable restaurants eating seafood and enjoying cocktails while we talked about the upcoming wedding.  Below are some of the statistics of this adorable area!  Check it out!

Newport, Rhode Island
Honeymoon like the classic couple you are by mansion-hopping, history-trailing, cliff-walking, and four-poster napping in this picturesque Rhode Island town that's home to New England's bluest blood.
Average high: summer, 78; winter, 39 (okay, not so hot in winter)
The resort: Stay in a mansion: The Chanler at Cliff Walk (TheChanler.com), which was built in 1865, is now a 20-room boutique hotel. Take in its sweeping Atlantic views and dine on the superlative seven-course chef’s tasting menu (with wine selections) at the property's Spiced Pear restaurant.
The hot spot: A day trip to beautiful Block Island offers a Martha's Vineyard-type experience complete with beaches, bike trails, lighthouses, and traditional stone walls but without the crazy crowds.

Jacqueline Bouvier Kennedy Onassis Childhood Home Newport Rhode Island
Hammersmith Farm is a Victorian mansion and surrounding property located in Newport, Rhode Island, and was the childhood home to Jacqueline Kennedy Onassis. The property hosted the wedding reception of Jacqueline and John F. Kennedy. During his presidency, Kennedy spent enough time at Hammersmith Farm that it was referred to as the "Summer White House." Notably the Peace Corps Act of 1961 (Public Law 87-293) was signed into law by Kennedy in late September 1961 during one of his stays.

Wedding Planning and Blogging

I really enjoy blogging!  I have decided for the time being to blog to all my readers and try to get more brides to be and just friends that love to plan events connected with my blog.  I can really speak from my heart and share important things that I hope you will enjoy and things that are important to me.  The great thing is that I can just keep writing and hope that someone is listening!  Blogging does take a lot of time and I will try to be better at getting a least one blog out a day, but I don't want to blog unless I have something fairly important to share.  My real goal is to give you ideas, inspire you to be creative and never have you thinking the event of your dreams is impossible!  Most of the planning takes time and starting early in your planning is key and causes less stress and allows more time for creative ideas to develop.  I am always looking for new vendors with new ideas.  I never want to stick to the same thing that everyone else does.    Most of all, I just want to have fun and enjoy you and what I do!

Fresh Flowers are the way to go!

I can almost smell these beautiful flowers as I remember putting this arrangement together before this event for a gentleman from California for his Mother's birthday!  He lived so far away and was set on me doing the arrangement over the florist!  I selected some beautiful flowers from a local Fresh Market and had them ship our special colors and then added some fresh Hydrangea from my garden!  I could have made ten more as it is the most pleasant experience putting together such beautiful fragrant flower arrangements!  I thank all my customers for allowing me the opportunity to add that special touch to their events!  I really enjoy it!
The Hydrangea stems were fresh out of my garden and are very showy for any event!  They came from a "Blushing Bride" Hydrangea bush that flowers in a pale green with rose colored tips.  What a great flower to add to any arrangement!

I would suggest to anyone throwing a special event to try to work with fresh flowers!  You may think silks or dried flowers will cost less, but that is not always the case.  There are many ways to add fresh, live greenery and flowers to your event without spending a huge amount!  I would go as far as telling you to plant a flower garden before your event!  There is nothing like real floral arrangements!  The smell is fabulous!  The look is great!  Most venues will only let you toss real flowers on their properties!  Let me know if you need help coming up with some great flower or arrangement ideas!
